The Disease, 2008

1 male - 1 female

Antonis (Cyprus) Georgiou

The heroine, who used to be an actress, is attempting to come to terms with the fact that she is gradually losing her memory. She connects her personal experience with the collective one, her own literal memory loss with the metaphorical one of society, always forgetting and repeating the same mistakes. A young salesman visits her and she takes the opportunity to ask for a paradoxical favour of him. The young man leaves in panic and later on, home alone, recalls the encounter with the woman, and torments himself as he cannot forget all the horrible things happening in the world. At the end, a clown performs an ominous show.
