The Parade, 1965

Loula Anagnostaki

One act play. Two brothers, a boy and a girl, are isolated and confined within a small room. They have fights and they have dreams. They worry. Their sole connection with the outside world is a window, from where they witness everything that takes place at a square across their home. The sudden appearance of a crowd fills them with enthusiasm as they are under the impression that a parade is about to take place. Soon enough, their joy will turn into a nightmare.
