Charalampos Giannou was born in Cyprus and is currently living in Athens, Greece.
He participated in playwriting workshops with Mark Ravenhill (Neue Stucke aus Europa, Wiesbaden, 2010) and Simon Stephens (Obrador d’Estiu- Sala Beckett, Barcelona, 2011).
Plays of his have been presented at the National Theatre of Greece, at the Theatrical Organization of Cyprus, the Michael Kakoyiannis Foundation, the Teatre Lliure de Barcelona and several other stages.
Hungry received the State Prize for Best Play 2014, by the Ministry of Culture, Greece and has been published by Oberon Books (The Oberon Anthology of Contemporary Greek Plays, 2017), Ediciones Antigona (Teatro Griego Contemporaneo, 2018) and by Uniunii Teatrale din Romania (Dramaturgie Contemporana Greaca). The Look of Love, received a Distinction at the Theatre Play Contest 2009, by the Theatrical Organization of Cyprus, while Falling Down the Stairs, also received a Distinction at the Contest for Young Playwrights 2008, by the National Theatre of Greece.
Plays of his have been translated in English, Spanish, Catalan, Polish and Romanian.
