Papalexi Maria

Maria Papalexi was born in Lamia in 1973. She is a graduate and post graduate of the Athens Faculty of Theatre Studies. She has attended seminars on acting, directing, speech processing and theatrical plays.

She currently occupies herself working on research papers, tutoring theatrical programmes, translating and authoring theatrical texts. Her plays have been presented by the Neos Kosmos Theatre, the Theatre of a Shoe and the National Theatre.

She has worked as an assistant director to V. Theodoropoulos on the plays: Madam Sousou by D. Psathas (Vretannia Theatre), Vasilikos by A. Matesi (National Theatre), Dio Thei (Two Gods) by L. Christidis, Edward II by Ch. Marlowe, Some Explicit Polaroids by Mark Ravenhill, The Seagull by A. Chekhov, Woyzeck by  Georg Büchner and The Sexual Neuroses of Our Parents by Lukas Bärfuss (Neos Kosmos Theatre.) She has also edited the drama text of Nantia (Delfi European Cultural Centre, 2009) directed by David Malteze.

Since 1999 she has been cooperating with Neos Kosmos Theatre as a theatrologist, organization & communication manager.

She was member of the editorial team of the radio broadcast for children "Go up apple, pomegranate descend" (Second ERTopen Program, 2014). From January 2015 to January 2017, along with actress-director Valentina Papadimitraki, presented the show "Orange Balloon  in R / S 105.5 In Red & PortokaliRadio.gr and that in  R/S 24/7 (May 2017-April 2018).

She is a volunteer at Penteli Sanitarium.
