Yannis Mavritsakis was born in Montreal. He left his studies at School of Philosphy of the University of Athens, and graduated from National Theatre’s Drama School.
He has written the plays: Blind Spot (2006), Wolfgang (2007), Fucking Job (2008), Vitriol (2010), Redshift (2012), The invocation of Enchantment (2014), Quasar (2016).
Vitriol was performed at the Avignon Festival (summer 2014), under the direction of Olivier Py, produced by National Theatre.
His texts have been translated, published and performed in many countries.
In 2019, he finished his novel Sacramento, which was published in 2020 by Editions Odos Panos.
