Dimitris Finitsis was born in Heraklion, Crete. He studied Creative Writing at the University of Western Macedonia, Faculty of Education (dissertation on Theatrical Play.) He pursued his studies at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, School of Drama, Faculty of Fine Arts (dissertation on Direction,) at Scuola di Lettere e Filosofia - Universita degli Studi di Genova, at "Themelio" School of Drama and at "ANT1" Media School.

He has written theatrical plays, monologues, short stories and fairytales. He has worked for many years in the department of print and electronic media as a cultural editor and broadcaster. He has also worked as an actor, however he is currently only working as a director.

Founding member and director at the "Performing Arts School Protasi" (www.protasi.org,) he has presented both classic and modern plays, mostly in non theatrical settings. He is currently tutoring the Theatre Education course at public schools in Rhodes, Crete and Corfu. His first tetralogy of theatrical plays is released by Aigokeros Publishing, under the general title "Dominatrix."
